Concept Map Strategy. Sub-English. Grade 6. Xseed.

Name of the lesson: Bhanwari the Policewoman

                  Students read a non-fictional biographical text which is based on caste discrimination and education of girls of lower castes in Rajasthan. The students read the text as silent reading.There was a discussion of the text in the class. I along with a volunteer teacher modelled how to fill the map on black board. Students, then did mapping on social issue caste discrimination and charachter study on the main charachter 'Bhanwari Malawat'

What a great use of the concept map! I appreciate the fact that you actually MODELED it for kids- how to fill a concept map. I think that is quite important that you do a mini lesson like that so kids know what is expected of them!
I also appreciate that you put a summary of your lesson as that helped us know what you were trying to achieve.
